It all started when Hope For Paws received a call about two dogs living under the I-5 freeway in California. This incredible rescue group is dedicated to saving animals that have been neglected or abandoned. They weren’t going to let a busy freeway stop them from helping these pups!
Eldad, the founder of Hope For Paws, and his friend Vanessa quickly set off to find the dogs. When they arrived, they knew they had to be careful. The dogs were hiding in the shadows of the freeway, and the rescuers had to crawl through tunnels to reach them.
Life in the Sewers
Pepsi and Cola had been living under the freeway for weeks. They survived by eating food left for them by kind strangers. But they were scared and unsure about humans. As the rescuers got closer, they noticed how these two curly-haired pups were inseparable. Pepsi, the older brother, was doing his best to protect Cola, who was smaller and more timid.
